DUI On a Horse??

I’m Don Pumphrey.  I’m the owner and founder of the Pumphrey Law Firm and I want to talk to you about DUI on a horse.

Now a lot of people may laugh when they hear that, but there is actually charge here in the state of Florida where you can be charged while riding on an animal, a horse, and it has to be in a specific area, at a specific location under certain circumstances, but it’s just one of those anomalies we wanted to share here on our video feed for people who are concerned with DUI or just curious people.  In fact in the state of Florida you can be charged with DUI on a horse.  Seems like that’s impossible right, because a horse is an animal that has its own independent thinking, but the reality is if you ride that horse on a roadway, if you ride it on a well-traveled path and you’re under the influence to the extent your normal faculties are impaired or you have a blood or breath alcohol over a point zero eight (.08) you can be charged with DUI on a horse.  So to all of you out there, giddy up but giddy up without having a drink.
